MinkLauncher Open is a focused, one-page Android home-screen launcher designed around fast keyboard input and low visual noise.
The home screen provides a two-item to-do preview, eight configurable shortcuts, a five-app drawer, and the Magic Box command field.
On a physical-keyboard phone, just start typing from the home screen. The already-focused Magic Box appears with the first character preserved; no tap is required.
Magic Box commands:
• @ — choose a contact and compose a message
• # — choose a contact, confirm, and place a call
• - — add an internal to-do
• $ — create a multiline note through an installed notes app
• + — create a calendar event
• ? — find and launch an installed app
• Plain text — search local filenames or delegate a web query to Android’s selected search handler
To-dos can be added, checked, edited, deleted, and reordered. Local file results are grouped into photos, videos, documents, and audio, with thumbnails where Android provides them.
Privacy is a core feature:
• No accounts, ads, analytics, trackers, or application server
• Queries, to-dos, settings, and filename indexing stay on the device
• Android cloud backup is disabled
• Document search is limited to folders explicitly selected by the user
• Permissions are requested only for features that need them
MinkLauncher Open is released under the Apache License 2.0.
