motd

motd is a native Android IRC client with a modern chat interface for direct IRC networks and soju bouncers.

Connect directly to an IRC server or use a bouncer for persistent connections, multi-network access, synchronized history, read markers, and push delivery.

* IRCv3 capabilities, SASL PLAIN and EXTERNAL, TLS, and client certificates

* Infinite scrollback with local search and full-text filtering
* Replies, reactions, typing indicators, nick autocomplete, and slash commands
* Inline images, link previews, file uploads, and configurable chat wallpapers
* SOCKS5, Tor, and optional VLESS + REALITY routing through embedded sing-box
* Material You themes, dark and AMOLED modes, custom text sizes, and message styles

motd does not require a hosted account or a proprietary chat service. The FOSS build uses UnifiedPush for battery-friendly background delivery and contains no Google Firebase dependency.

The embedded VLESS + REALITY transport is available on arm64-v8a devices. Android 8.0 (API 26) or newer is required.
