Weave is a decentralized social app built around customizable profiles, group discussions, and user choice in moderation.
Instead of relying on a conventional centralized social-media server, Weave runs an embedded VeilKnit node over the Veilid network.
Features include:
• Custom profile pages with backgrounds, foreground elements, text, images, audio, links, and widgets.
• Search and discovery for people and shared content.
• Groups with posts, comments, media, and Snapshot views of active conversations.
• Moderation branches so users can choose which moderation view to follow, with support for moderation claiming and continuity.
• Local on-device content filtering for supported image and text categories.
• Sandboxed widgets that are loaded on demand and compiled locally from visible source.
• No direct-message system; social interaction is centered on visible profiles, groups, posts, and comments.
Weave is under active development, so some areas may still be rough around the edges while the decentralized networking and moderation systems continue to mature.
